This program will allow children to work together unlike any other class they are already taking. Through different art (therapy) modalities, children will be allowed to express their feelings together through art. The program can help children feel supported and held in their feelings and focuses on positive personal growth, helps kids learn new techniques to sooth themselves, attain joy and aids them in creating positive energy.

From my own experience in my work with kids, I know that children have their own needs and concerns. Providing a safe space for them to express in a non-verbal way helps them convey their authentic self without the pressure of having to perform, do well and attain good grades. The course is designed to allow the child to verbalize itself creatively as they are in the moment without judgment; helping them to authentically express themselves and be present with other children without feeling judged by differences.

The art exercises include but are not limited to creating masks, make drawings, paint and use clay to tap into their own inner world and tell their own story.

These groups can help give children an outlet and something fun and non-competitive to look forward to.
